How to get there

To pick up the boats on Thursday, competitors should come to Port Solent, while the welcome drinks will be held at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth, which is 45 minutes motoring away from Port Solent. Saturday night's dinner will be held in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.

Airports

The nearest airport is Southampton (SOU).  This is a taxi ride away

The nearest major airport is Gatwick(LGW). This is a train and a taxi ride away. 

Trains

Trains run from Gatwick Airport once an hour to Havant, or Portsmouth and Southsea, cost about £20 return and take about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Trains run from London Waterloo station every 30 minutes to the same stations, cost about £40 return and take about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

(If you are travelling to Gunwharf Quays, you can get off at the nearby Portsmouth Harbour station)

Taxis

The taxi from Southampton Airport to Port Solent should cost about £40, and take about 25 minutes in light traffic. The taxi from Havant or Portsmouth and Southsea should cost about £20 and take about 20 minutes.

Accommodation

Accommodation for eight crew is available on board the boats. Crew should bring a sleeping bag. Hotel and bed and breakfast accommodation is available in Portsmouth on Thursday and Friday and in Cowes on Saturday night. Please note that the events on Thursday and Friday night are in down town Portsmouth, not Port Solent. Please note also that Saturday night's dinner is in Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, which is 2 hours away from Portsmouth by public transport.
